The Icons Issue

When we talk about the term ICON, it typically refers to a person or an item regarded as a representative symbol, something that is worthy of veneration. It could be someone you want to learn from, admire or deeply respect. It could be a celebrity or a pop culture figure who has moulded a given era of society. It could even be a cultural symbol or an object.

In this issue, we were not only able to have conversations with many fascinating figures, but our talented creative teams from around the world helped us realise the theme of ICON in their own visual perspectives. Bringing us series of unexpected and exciting fashion and beauty editorials, this ICONS issue is rooted in the belief that there is no singular definition of the word.

ESEA Sisters: ESEA Sisters, are a collective of like-minded, determined and courageous womxn, queer and non-binary folk sharing a common goal: to increase invisibility and highlight issues faced by ESEA people in the UK. What started as a Whatsapp group discussing diasporic issues of those of ESEA descent has become a Discord community who won’t be silenced. 

Jingyu & Rachael:   Reflecting upon their collaborative photoshoot, photographer Jingyu Lin and stylist Rachael Wang consider Chinese identity and the importance of being understood.  

Hannah & Jasmyn: Fashion's new favourites Hannah and Jasmyn celebrate a moment of elation and excitement with their Filipino comrades. Embracing Filipino culture, it’s a journey of discovery and passion away from home.

Import duties, taxes are not included in the product price, and it will be collected upon delivery from the carriers for certain packages.
